More DFW Metroplex and North Texas stores

If you're in Sulphur Springs, which is about 60 miles east of Dallas on I-30, you might want to check out Sew Many Quilts. They claim to have about 4000 bolts of fabric, many many books and patterns as well as Bernina and Janome machines.

My thanks to Barbara Nelson Sylvester for sending me this information on shops in her area.

"I want to thank you for maintaining the fabric store pages. I've learned quite a bit about an area I've lived in for almost 20 years now. I recently discovered a wonderful little quilt store in Gainesville. The stores name is Pass Time Fabrics and it's located on the far east edge of Gainesville's business district. The building was originally a stone house, so the front room and the dining area are the main fabric areas. One of the bedrooms is a sale room with $1 fat quarters and other sale fabric and the other is a classroom. The bathroom has a great dropped tub where the batting is stored. Hung on the hallway walls are quilting accessories, patterns and books. The address is 1218 East California, Gainesville, TX 76240. It's open M-S 10-5 and has a great aura. Gainesville is about 45 miles north of Lewisville on I35. Coming from Dallas you'd take the California Street exit and head east. Another nice thing about the area is the outlet mall found a few miles north of Gainesville.

"Another really wonderful shop is the Carriage House Quilt Shoppe in Van Alstyne, about 15 miles north of McKinney on Hwy 75. Take the Van Alstyne exit, then go right. Take a right at the only light in town, go two blocks, then take a left. The store is two blocks down on the righthand side of the road. Walking into the store is like walking into one from the 40s or 50s--wooden floors and all. There's a decent selection of fabrics and books. There's always great samples of both quilts and quilted wearables. They have a neat skirt pattern which is an original design and are coming out with other wearable designs this fall. Their prices run similar to the north Dallas stores."
