Quilting
Berry Patch Fabrics, Fort Worth, on Hulen across from Hulen Mall. Lots of quilting supplies & fabrics, an heirloom fabrics & laces section, silk ribbon embroidery, heirloom patterns, Bernina dealer. Offers quilting, fashion & heirloom classes. Prices on the high side.
Calico Cupboard, 6409 Hwy 26, Colleyville, 817-481-7105. Great quilter's shop, good classes. Pretty fabrics grouped by color.
2 Sister's Quilts, Main Street, Grapevine New Pfaff dealer. Quilting shop, classes. Has a pleater, but doubt anyone knows how to use it! No heirloom fabrics or laces. Offers some children's sewing classes too.
Abram House Quilt Shop, 1210 West Abram Street in Arlington. 817-277-4749. Many new fabrics and are getting more in - they are stocking a Civil War collection, 1930's reproduction prints, the Shelborne collection, and more.
Smocking
Stitches & Stuff, 2712E Brown Trail, Bedford 817-285-9995 Specializes in heirloom & smocking. Imperial batiste, broadcloth, and a few specialty fabrics--silk batiste, silk organdy, swiss batiste, nelona, silk doupioni. M-F 10:00-6:00, Sat 10:00-4:00.
This update from MZ: -- The Grapevine Collection in Tara Village on Cheek-Sparger Road in Colleyville is buying the inventory of Stitches-N-Stuff as Gloria is shortly retiring. They have carried very nice heirloom and designer fabric, but this will be their first smocking supplies. Lorene Bonewitz is the owner and the phone# is 817-514-6061. Sorry I don't know the street number for the shop.
Treasures & Keepsakes 817-263-8535 by appointment only. Lots of heirloom & smocking materials out of a home. In southwest Fort Worth. Silk doupioni, organdy, Liberty of London, etc. Heirloom patterns, laces, Imperial fabrics. Mostly a mail-order business.

Gardner's Ribbons & Lace at 1303 W. Abram St. in Arlington, (817) 469-7043 (from 360 exit west on Abram St. Travel 3.7 miles (on the north side of the street). Now located in an old home and across the street from Abram House quilt store.). Not strictly a fabric store--they have some fine cottons, but mostly bolts of Nottingham and bridal laces, many fine buttons, beads and specialty ribbons, including silk embroidery.
