Hello, just thought I would drop you a line or two about "Singer School Sales".
I am a Singer dealer as well as a dealer for most major brands of sewing machines
and vacuums. We are one of the largest independent dealers in the country. We
have been in business many years and are members of the BBB, Chamber of
Commerce, and NFIB. We have thousands of satisfied customers nation wide.
Also as with any business we have customers we have not been able to satisfy,
but we always try to do what we can within reason. Aside from our retail stores
we also have a sales organization that travels the country selling legitimate Singer
School Machines in factory sealed cartons. The Singer company sells these
machines to dealers as school models and they are listed on the Singer dealer
wholesale price list as "School". The MSRP ( Manufactures Suggested Retail
Price) is set by Singer and the MSRP on the machine we advertise is $429.99.
The machine we advertise will do every funtion listed in our ad and our salespeople
are more than happy to show you. We also allow you to sew on the machines
yourself. We have other models available at our sales just as a car dealer has other
cars available at their lot when they run an ad. We provide a toll free help
line and free replacement for 1 full year if you have a problem. All customers
receipts state No Refunds Exchanges Only. If a customer asks we tell them not to buy a
machine if they are not sure they want it. All our customers who put a machine on
layaway are given a layaway agreement that they sign that states No Refunds On
Layaways. We will exchange or provide replacement product if a customes wants to
discontinue their layaway. In any business you will find some crooks who try to take
advantage of people. I assume you have either been ripped off or you are a dealer who
does not like competition. There are also people who do not have any dealers in their
town and we provide them with an oppurtunity to purchase a machine. Another positve
influence we have on the sewing machine market is that with the larger volume of
machines Singer produces the wholesale prices go down for all the dealers, not just
us. If anyone who reads this has a machine you have purchased elsewhere and feel you
are not receiving the assistance you need or are having a warranty problem feel free
to call us at 800-338-5672. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts and I
appreciate you posting this letter.
