Subj: Fwd: Need advice on a new machine Date: 98-10-03 21:47:18 EDT From: CTHIFLyer To: DDuperault Sorry if this comes to you broke up...I wanted to E-mail you about my "School Machine" disaster. I'm still new at the Inter Net. Got any ideas on getting rid of one of these beauties? By the way thanks for the great entry about the scam. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi , my school machine, I think was advertised as a "Tailor", they came across like this brand is a sister to Singer brand. I got it home and first thing, I had a awful time threading it. The book has a terrible illustration, and the description was not any better. Then I broke the original needle trying to hem a pair of Docker pants. I called their 1-800 #, (which is the only way to speak to anyone about these stinking machines) they said oh, the factory needle is not so great, did I buy the pack of needles and bobbins special they had offered? I said yes, the man said great put one of those in, they were made in Germany. All along in my efforts to sew on it nothing went right. I'd chalk it up to being tired, or in a hurry. but to no avail, I got so frustrated that I never finished a dress I started. I just sat there and cried. I know this may sound silly, but if you had seen the presentation. You just keep thinking that you know how to sew, but a man sews bettter on your new marchine than you ever will, cause you can't keep the thread from breaking... or any of the other afflications I suffered with this machine. Maybe my machines is just a lemon and the other machines sold that day work beautifully. Who knows! I like my Kenmore, it's just I want more out of it. I bought a gatherer, but it is not performing the way it should. Possible user problems? I went to see the Husqvarna models today. Very nice, the top of the lines are computerized, scary, but no worse that learning how to use the inter net. I can't do anything money wise till I can sell my "school machine". Well gotta go, let me know what Kenmore you looked into, and what you thought.
