"The details are what make a miniature setting so special, says Kay Melchisedech Olson, editor of Nutshell News. You will notice that people will look at the projects longer and get more pleasure out of them the more details there are." From Durham Herald-Sun 7-13-1997
Ideas: address on your door, letters and newspapers addressed to your dollhouse occupants, toilet tissue (wrap tissue on a cocktail straw/stirrer), family pictures from color copies or contact print sheets.
Other tips: Try to recreate a magazine layout in mini form. Get into the details. You'll be surprised how nice it looks if you don't forget the tiny stuff- trim on the baseboards, light switches, pillows, pictures, books, window treatments.
