GenCon 05
Cyberpunk 2020, V3 Costume Project

GenCon!
We had a blast! The costumes were a big hit. I think we were photographed more this year, often by three or four people at once, because we chose to do it on Saturday just before the costume contest and there were more people ready with cameras. It took us less time to get through the vendor hall though, as we were not shopping this time, and didn't need to stop at booths.
Quick notes: vinyl is hot. Kim and I were both sweating before we left our hotel room. I think Paul was more comfortable in his leather. The gel soles for the boots were a good idea. I forgot to band-aid the spot where my little toe rubs, though, and got a blister. My hair did not want to stay up. It took me 3 tries to get it into the ponytail, and I had to adjust it twice once we left the room. Nobody recognized me, even people who've known me for ten years or more walked right past when I said Hello. We had no problems with the guns, but I noticed we were one of very few costumers carrying them. The barcode tattoos stayed on well, but the other brand I used did not last more than a few hours. My led necklace was warm, too. I was surprised at how much heat it generated, it was almost uncomfortable. We had to change batteries after two hours because it used the first one up so fast. Oh yeah, The Man lied to us. There was no V3 at GenCon.
I remembered to hand our camera to people this year so we got a few shots of ourselves. We're also popping up on the web:
